THE BANDS
Each year Faerieworlds featured world-class performers from around the world whose work reflects the beauty and mythos of the realm of Faerie. Faerieworlds would like to thank Michael Honack and the Arimathea Fund, along with the Lane Arts Council for their contribution in taking this year's musical lineup and stage show to a new level. Thanks to their assistance this year's shows on Friday and Saturday will run until midnight, and Faerieworlds will featured new bands from Europe, the East Coast, the Southwest, and the Pacific Northwest. Over the coming weeks the complete schedule and lineup of Faerieworlds main stage bands will be announced at this web page. Please check back soon for more updates.

QNTAL
Founded in 1991, QNTAL presents a unique melding of traditional music with contemporary electronica, creating compelling music of exceptional beauty, emotional power and depth. With the soaring vocals of Syrah at the center supported by the accomplished musicianship of founder Michael Popp and Phillipp Groth, QNTAL musically explores classic, poetic and mythic themes of love, beauty, mystery and wonder. Each of the bands four albums to date are amazing achievements of theme and lyric married perfectly with music, with number 3, “Tristan” as a personal favorite.

Very popular in Germany and Europe with a passionate US fan base now aggressively expanding, QNTAL evokes respectful comparisons to Dead Can Dance while maintaining their own unique identity. It is no coincidence that the cover artwork for their latest album, “Silver Swan” created by Brian Froud is reminiscent of a magically charged mirror that opens into a mystical, parallel universe. Brian’s remarkable images marry perfectly with the lush, dramatic tones of songs, as exemplified in Brian’s first music video for the single, “Von Den Elben.” qntal.de & myspace.com/qntal

ZILLA
Zilla is a Colorado based trio of musicians with the live experience in mind. A 100% organic, improvised experience, each Zilla concert proves to be a completely new occurrence, with even the band members having no idea where the music will take them night after night.

Relying on their uncanny ability to listen and incorporate their individual talents into a group focused brand of live electronic dance music, Zilla is sweeping the country by storm with their rare breed of beats, bass and uncontrollable musical fury making each performance exactly what live music is all about: spontaneity, grooves, and a damn good dance party.

Forming in Boulder, CO, Zilla began as a quintet before changing to it’s current three man roster comprised of acclaimed musicians: Michael Travis of String Cheese Incident fame, Aaron Holstein, and Jamie Janover. Catch Zilla at their Faerieworlds premiere on Saturday August 2nd on Bad Faeries Night!

TRILLIAN GREEN
For yea
rs, Trillian Green dazzled audiences with their raw acoustic psycho-tantric dance music. The trio is comprised of Christine Gunn on cello, Ben Klein on flute, and Jarrod Kaplan on percussion

Founded on the wooded trails of the Oregon Country Fair in the early 90's, Trillian Green is known for their ability to inspire audiences to get up and stomp wildly to their energized celto-tribal acoustic sounds. Trillian Green returns to the forests outside Eugene, Oregon at Faerieworlds this year on Friday August 1st.

"The cello, flute, and percussion danced across the stage lit by three candelabras... The flute was given new dimension and depth with the undertones of the cello... Add the percussion, and you get a musical ensemble that’s skill is only surpassed by their enthusiasm. If I had to pick one word to describe the entire evening, it would be fervor."

TELESMA
lending ancient and modern instrumentation and spirit, Baltimore-based Telesma bridges the gap between primal and futuristic, setting itself apart from other bands in the music scene with their intoxicating sound and extra-ordinary live performances.

Telesma's unique sound, that has been labeled "electro-acoustic psychedelic world dance music", is driven by the primal voices of the didgeridoo (one of the oldest instruments in the world, 40,000 years), the kubing (bamboo mouth harp), tribal drums and percussion, and the human voice. These elements are fused with modern instruments including keyboards, guitar, bass, theremin, samplers, modern drums, and the unique homemade "manDrum" to create a trance-like pulse not unlike that heard in modern electronic dance music.
