THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF
FAIRY WOODLAND
At Fairy Woodland, twigs, stones, and sand are woven together to create magical dwelling places for Fairy Folk. Each house tells a tale that opens the door between the Faerie Realm and the mythic imagination.
When we photograph their habitats, Fairies appear, creating mystical images for prints, calendars, cards and even a movie: “Gateways to Faerie.” Every product in the Fairy Store is handmade in our Oregon workshop and designed to provide a real home to real Fairies. |

the Gorgonist is Robin E Kaplan, a freelance illustrator and aspiring novelist in Portland, OR,
who likes lonely ghosts, introspective monsters, robots in love, and scary women.
For me, art is about communication and connection. I create my illustrations digitally because I feel that the process is more about the image than the materials, and the image is my passion.
However, handwork is tremendously satisfying. The felt mascots, plushies, jewelry and dollclothes for sale in my store are all handmade with love. I have been customizing volks dollfies for two years. Request an original character or some other favorite of yours! |

KARELI KAIROS
The ancient Greeks had two words for time: CHRONOS - linear time, measured by the clock and the calendar; and KAIROS - a more abstract concept, an in-between time, a moment not defined by length. In archery and weaving, kairos is a technical term denoting a physical opening that requires the precise timing of action to successfully navigate (either with arrow or yarn). Kairos moments are those moments when (linear, chronos) time stops, and you are simply " in the now." As the dailyness (the chronos) falls away, the eternal is revealed. As a result, one will never be the same again. When old rules, methods, traditions, habits, ways of thinking no longer work, the world changes. Kairos is the bridge that takes us from the "old way" to the "new way." The eternal enters the temporal, challenging and transforming it. Kairos prepares the temporal to receive the eternal. It is an instrument of the unconditional and unconscious. |
