PHOENIX RISING
Phoenix Rising is a performing arts troupe which originated in Santa Cruz, CA that specializes in fire dance theatre, stilting, costume design and wearable art.

Sacred theater, personal expression, and a unique blend of traditional dance and spontaneous movement are combined to tell stories of passion, creation, love, and mischief.

Phoenix Rising paints a colorful, exciting landscape that allows imagination to carry the audience beyond their day to day reality.

AMIRA THE MUDFAERIE
Welcome to The MudFaery Sculptorium!
Organic Art From the Ground Up! The MudFaery Sculptorium is an attraction that inspires creativity and joy in those who observe closely. Amira MudFaery spends the days in a "garden" of mud, which she transforms into fine, whimsical and fun sculpture in front of viewers. Often caught making music or being silly, in between sculptings, Amira is an enchanting sight to see. Art pulled from the earth by the hands of a faery!

TOBY FROUD

Born in London, England, Toby Froud began his acting career before he could speak.  Starring in his first motion picture when he was still a toddler, he played Sarah's baby brother "Toby" in the Jim Henson film Labyrinth.

Recently, Toby has been working as a stilt-walker and dancing bear with a troupe that performed throughout England this summer. Wendy made his incredible costumes and Toby has become a master stilt walker. Toby is also very interested in film making and is working on a short film featuring puppets he has made himself.

MYTHMAKER
Mythmaker is a performance group based in British Columbia whose mission is to integrate and perform a new cultural mythology. Weaving aspects of Celtic and Native American lore, mythmaker creates performances that are both theatre and ritual, artistic and spiritual in theme and content. Mythmaker will perform on the Village Stage at this years event and will also participate in the overall event ambience.

DRAGON SCALES
With magic words provided by the audience the Faerie Queen helps the baby dragon to hatch. Experience the joy of birth and watch the new hatchling learn about life outside of the shell.

This show has been delighting people of all ages for over twenty years. The dragon is charming, hilarious, and heart warming, while the faerie is intelligent, witty, and beautiful. All costumes are made by international award-winning artist Animal X, who will also be starring in the performances. Everyone who wants can meet him and the Faerie Queen at the end of each show. Make sure to bring some chocolate for the baby dragon –it’s his favorite food!

LYCEE LA CHANCE
Lycee La Chance is an amazing performer from the San Francisco based performance troupe Apsara. She is a magical dancer, performance artist, fire spinner, stilt walker and a true fire faerie. Lycee who has been performing as a professional dancer since the age 12, brought her magic to Faerieworlds for the first time last year, participating in the Lunasa rituala and fire show, and adding greatly to the event ambience. We are overjoyed that she will be joining us again this summer.

JOSHUA SAFFORD
Joshua Safford appears in two forms Raven and Jeremiah Wiggins. Raven is a magical bird that does an act that is a curious combination of balance, eggstraordinary magic and lunacy. Jeremiah Wiggins is the ambassador to the faerie realm, as well as a professional storyteller that has toured nationally for over a decade doing environmental theater, and has been part of the Faerieworlds Festival from the very beginning. His tales are a wonderful cross between humor and fantasy and are sometimes blended with magic. Jeremiah Wiggins is also the human “translator”(I.E. creator) of the faeries’ newspaper, the Daily Crock.. (What pixies read with their morning coffee.) Jeremiah is not hard to spot, just look for the large faerie mushroom perched on top of his head. He’ll plop it down and spin you a yarn. For more information on Joshua, his characters, and strange fantasy products, check out his website at www.ravenstory.com/new
