We are excited to announce the return of featured artists Brian and Wendy Froud to this years Faerieworlds Festival at Secret House Winery. Brian and Wendy's work will be on display in the Faerieworlds Vending Village at the Imaginosis booth, and they will be available for book and art signings. More artists and special guests to be announced soon!

BRIAN FROUD
For over thirty years, international best selling artist, author and film designer Brian Froud has been recognized as an authority on faeries and faery lore and is the artistic inspiration for The Faerieworlds Festival. His significant accomplishments span a wide variety of media: The multi-million selling book, FAERIES created with fantasy and Tolkien illustrator Alan Lee is considered a modern classic. His conceptual design work with Jim Henson on the classic feature films THE DARK CRYSTAL, LABYRINTH and other Henson projects set new standards for design, puppeteering and animatronics in film, are landmarks in the evolution of modern day special effects and continue to attract an international cult following. His published works include the best selling LADY COTTINGTON’S PRESSED FAIRY BOOK, GOOD FAERIES / BAD FAERIES, LADY COTTINGTON’S PRESSED FAIRY ALBUM, and THE RUNES OF ELFLAND, GOBLINS and LADY COTTINGTON’S PRESSED FAIRY LETTERS with author and folklorist Ari Berk. |

WENDY FROUD
Wendy Froud worked as sculptor and puppet builder for Jim Henson for many years, primarily on the films THE DARK CRYSTAL for which she sculpted “Jen” and “Kira”, LABYRINTH and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK for which she sculpted “Yoda”. Other work for Jim Henson included THE MUPPET SHOW and THE MUPPET MOVIE.
Wendy has also made puppets for use in television commercials. With author Terri Windling, she created three books illustrated by tableaus of her dolls, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S FAERIE TALE, THE WINTER CHILD and THE FAERIES OF SPRING COTTAGE. TONY DITERLIZZI
Tony DiTerlizzi is the co-author and illustrator of the best-selling "Spiderwick Chronicles" and the illustrator of the Caldecott Honor Book, "The Spider and the Fly". Tony DiTerlizzi's artwork has also been featured on the wildly popular Magic: The Gathering trading cards and in TSR's Dungeons and Dragons. He has also written and illustrated two picture books of his own, "Ted” and “Jimmy Zangwow's Out-of-this-World Moon Pie Adventure". DiTerlizzi's Faerie artwork is featured throughout the recently released New York Times best-seller "Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You". Michael Hague

MICHAEL HAGUE
Michael Hague is one of America's foremost illustrators. He is perhaps best known for his series of children's classics, which includes such favorites as The Wind in the Willows, The Velveteen Rabbit, Mother Goose, The Secret Garden, Peter Pan, the Hobbit, the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and more. He is also the creator of "The Book of Faeries", "The Book of Pirates, and "The Book of Dragons" amongst others. GRIS GRIMLY Author, artist, sculptor and filmmaker Gris Grimly, is known for bringing his distinctive style to everything he creates. His visions haunt the imaginations of people of all ages, and his skills as a storyteller have won him a loyal following of fans. As author and/or illustrator he has produced nearly a dozen picture books including two volumes of his own WICKED NURSERY RHYMES and the original adventure LITTLE JORDAN RAY’S MUDDY SPUD which features an outrageous cast of characters including a boy, a mad hare, a troll, a knight, a nymph, a dragon and ten zillion fairies. Future projects include a graphic version of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW inspired by Victorian newspaper comics, and a collaboration with Neil Gaiman on a dark alphabet book that is scheduled for 2008. JEN DELYTH
Jen Delyth draws from her Welsh heritage to craft original intricate artworks that weave ancient patternings into a new living form. Her work conveys archtypal, spiritual and mythical themes which express the Celtic belief in the inter-connectedness of all things. In addition to exhibiting her work at Faerieworlds this year, her ground-breaking video “Beyond the Ninth Wave” weaving Celtic Animation, film, poetry and art, will be featured during Trillian Green’s headlining main stage set. ARI BERK
Dr. Ari Berk is a writer, visual artist, and scholar of literature, history, iconography, and comparative myth. His publications have included academic studies on myth and ancient cultures, as well as popular works on myth for both children and adults. He is the author of The Runes of Elfland, Goblins!, and Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Letters, three books created with artist Brian Froud. Ari will be attending Faerieworlds for the first time this year and will be available for sigings at the Imaginosis booth.

Jane Starr Weils

JANE STARR WEILS
This year's featured vending artist is celtic inspired painter Jane Starr Weils. Ancient cultures, myth and magick are the core elements that inspire her art work. Fascinated with symbolic mythology, she weaves a bit of symbolism into every painting, creating artwork that draws the viewer in, unfolding and revealing it's meaning slowly. Current projects include book covers for tales of fairies, dragons and ancient Celtic people as well as Celtic music CD covers. Jane was chosen as one of this year's featured vending artists thanks to her reverent and meaningful work.
