JUST ANNOUNCED! FAERIEWORLDS PRE-EVENT WORKSHOPS WITH THE FROUDS
Wendy Froud will offer her three day sculpting workshop on July 29th-31st in the Eugene, Oregon area. Incredibly, Wendy will be joined by Brian Froud as he plans to assist during parts of the workshop (he's a great sculptor too!) The workshop description and pricing is below. Toby Froud has developed a two day rod puppet workshop that he will be offering in the Eugene, Oregon area on July 29th and 30th. This workshop combines sculpting and rod puppetry and is a blast!! Wendy Froud Three Day Sculpting Workshop
Three days will allow us to come near completing a fairy or other fantastical creature. Day One will include connecting to your faerie guide, building an armature and sculpting the head. Day Two will include constructing the body and sculpting the hands and feet. Day Three will include final costuming, the application of hair and constructing wings. Each day we will be working from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour off for lunch from 1:00-2:00 PM. Cost: $585.00 and includes polymer clay, armature wire and a selection of materials for hair, wing and costumes. Participants will need to bring basic tools and craft supplies. This workshop is limited to 15 participants.
Toby Froud Two Day Rod Puppet Workshop
Toby Froud will lead participants through his process for creating imaginative puppet characters. During the workshop, you will sculpt the puppet's head and hands in polymer clay. You'll learn Toby's design for building an effective, yet simple rod puppet mechanism; participants will also explore costuming and finishing techniques. Each day we will be working from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with an hour off for lunch. Cost: $225.00 and includes all materials. Participants will need to bring basic tools and craft supplies. ZILLA TO BRING SCI SUMMER MAGIC TO FAERIEWORLDS!
Fans of String Cheese Incident and Jamie Janover's jamming hammered dulcimer playing will be delighted to know that Zilla will make their Faerieworlds premiere this summer at Bad Faeries night on Saturday August 2nd!
CHRIS MURDOCH TO APPEAR AT FAERIEWORLDS!
One of Faerieworlds highlights will be a special performance by contact juggler Chris Murdoch, who delivered a show-stopping performance at the Masquerade Balls at FaerieCon in Philadelphia. A true master of his art, Murdoch performs with luminous crystal balls like David Bowie's Goblin King Labyrinth, in a mesmerizing display of skill and poetic motion. Performing to the live music of Qntal and Woodland, his performances at Good Faeries and Bad Faeries night are sure to entrance and astound!
