WOODLAND
Woodland' is an original celtic-inspired ensemble featuring the songwriting and poetic harmonies of Emilio and Kelly Miller-Lopez. For more than 6 years Woodland has been enchanting audiences with their unique blend of original and traditional melodies woven with ornate and meaningful bardic poetry.

Kelly Miller-Lopez is featured on the harp, flutes, percussion and lead vocals, and Emilio Miller-Lopez is featured on guitar and harmony vocals. Fiddler Kimmy Smith drives the melodic power of the group, weaving dynamic harmonic patterns with Emilio's guitar, while also contributing to the vocal sound. Woodland also features a powerful rhythm section featuring bassist and didjeridu player Donald Brodsky and drummer Mr. Rountree.

Live, the bands performances journey between soft sensual acoustic sounds and melody-driven rhythmic tribal rock. For years Woodland concerts and faerie Masquerades have coincided with ancient mythic holidays such as solstices, equinoxes and full moons, with their multi-generational audience arriving at events adorned in masks, robes, horns, wings and crowns in celebration.

"...That is where the ethereal tones of Woodland’s music takes you. Back, not to a place where childhood daydreams danced, but to ancient Celtic myth where everything on the earth had a consciousness and was vibrant with living spirit.”
-Sandy Moss
The Daily Courier, AZ

“When we heard the music of Woodland, we thought how wonderful it was and we were intrigued with the possibilities of how ideas sort of flow outward and get larger... We just wanted to help, encourage and expand the world. We put my images together with the music and we received a delighted reaction from the audience.”

KAN'NAL
Explosions of fire. Thrumming, primal rhythm. Dancers swirling in whirls of diaphanous white. Machetes spinning and clashing. Ancient instruments and futuristic technologies. Mythic archetypes – skeletons, deer, wondrous female warriors – coming to life. Seduction. Danger. Freedom.

And we’re only talking about the first minute or so after Kan’Nal takes the stge. These performances surpass what people expect.

You can’t exactly call them concerts; instead Kan’Nal has created its own ”Shamanic Rock” – personal ritual that stirs the emotions – fear, desire, ecstasy – in a way that makes this group much more than just a band.

"...the pulsating beats and hypnotic melodies that define the genre go back much further, to a time when sounds came not from computer chips but wooden blocks and animal skins."
-Dirt Magazine

"....this one is going to blow you away. ...simply stunning .... This is the best "pagan" music.. I've heard in at least the last 2 years...great musicianship, unique harmonies, great songs and intriguing lyrics.

Ear Candy

"...an interesting dichotomy of upbeat pop-ish sounds with thought-provoking lyrics."

Casey Neill is a singer/songwriter whose style fuses American rootsrock and celtic influences with original lyricism. Casey has been a featured performer at festivals and events throughout the northwest for many years, and will return to perform on Sunday July 22nd at the Faerieworlds Festival.

"While Casey Neill's muscular tales of love and rambling clearly follow a Celtic blueprint, he belts it out American style. With a clear lyrical vision of the West, Neill stands as an admirable exponent of a deep tradition."

THE WICKER MEN
The Wicker Men have been making music together since 1998. United by a common interest, to create nontraditional earthen music that speaks from deep within. With instruments from many cultures, they blend their voices, to paint a sound all their own. With influences of Druid imagery, folk storytelling, rhythm of rock, and the passion of the gypsies, their dynamic music will both make you dance and soothe your soul with lullabies.

Last year Faerieworlds festival attendees saw the premiere of the Wicker Men at the Faerieworlds Main Gates. Their tribal rhythms and dark medieval melodies enchanted all who passed 'neath the Faerieworlds Green Man. The 2007 Faerieworlds Festival will include an opening main stage set of Gypsy Druid Folk Rock Voodoo by the Wicker Men on Saturday July 21st.
