The faerie dust has finally settled in the fields and vineyards of Secret House Winery, as Faerieworlds 2008 recedes now into cherished memory. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all of our guests, artists, bands, sponsors, Secret House and all of our hard working production team for making Faerieworlds 2008 such a record breaking success. The year's event was our largest to date with over 12,500 attendees, representing over 65% growth from 2007. The quality, beauty and diversity of arts, crafts, jewelry and apparel of our 160 vendors - our largest Village yet - was exceptional as were our amazing bands. Headliners Woodland, Qntal, Kan'nal, Wicker Men, Tricky Pixie, Gaia Consort, Zilla and Trillian Green delivered show-stopping sets, and Spanish artist Priscilla Hernandez's premiere performances in the US brought a very special beauty and magic to Faerieworlds with her enchanting music and lyrics.
Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to meet and get books and prints signed by our Guests of Honor and Guest Artists, Brian, Wendy and Toby Froud - who brought along his delightful troll puppet, Ignatz (arguably the hit of the show), Amy Brown, Joseph Corsentino, Jody Bergsma, Jen Delyth, Diana S. Zimmerman, and Maxine Gadd. So many guests came with friends, met friends that made in our Tribe forum or on our MySpace site or made new ones over the weekend.
But by far, it was the extraordinary spectacle of our guest's costumes and faerie finery that demonstrated the true magic and majesty of Faerieworlds. Nothing so purely embodies the imagination, spirit and joy of Faerieworlds than the beauty and pageantry that our guests bring to the show. We have said it before, but this year it was never more true: our guests ARE Faerieworlds. Please visit our new, updated Photo Gallery and see for yourself! And as of today, there are over 6000 images of Faerieworlds on Flickr! We are now getting literally hundreds of e-mails and posts from our guests sharing their personal stories. the most frequent being that Faerieworlds was "transformational": people's lives were renewed, changed and transformed by their experience: they literally do not want it to end! Here is what Guest of Honor Amy Brown had to say:
"It was an honor to be included in Faerieworlds this year. My family and I had so much fun (five year old Bella didn't want to go home and I sort of didn't either) and we can't wait to come back next year. After a few very stressful and emotionally draining years that had me seriously considering retiring from being a Faery artist, Faerieworlds was exactly what I needed to restore my passion for my work. Watching the sheer happiness and abandon of the crowds and seeing all of the beautiful unique items being sold by the vendors was inspirational. A little light bulb went off in my head "AAhhhh...this is why I chose this life. Now I remember." This is the type of life I want my girls to grow up with. I want them to know that there are other roads we can take. Faerieworlds helps us find those roads again and again."

The summer of 2008 was the biggest Faerieworlds event ever, with THREE days of music, art and imagination, shows running until midnight, and our biggest musical lineup ever! Faerieworlds 2008 was a themed weekend, with Friday for Good Faeries, Saturday for Bad Faeries, and Sunday was family day when kids got in free!
